The Cambridge RedHawks stand with all members of the LGBTQ+ community. We believe in hockey environments that are free of judgement and discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression and/or race. It’s crucial to hold every hockey player up these standards in every locker room across the world to ensure we are keeping people safe while ensuring we grow the game.
Understanding that respect, acceptance and teamwork are a few of the basic values of our game, we hope to work with our community to grow locker room and spectator culture, build stronger fan engagement and increase participation in hockey among LGBTQ+ youth. Through advocacy, discussion and education, join the Cambridge RedHawks in our fight for fairness in the locker room and on the ice.
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) Pride Month is celebrated each year in the month of June to raise awareness of, and combat prejudice against LGBTQ+ identifying folks, uplift LGBTQ+ voices, and celebrate LGBTQ+ activism and culture. Traditionally and internationally, Pride takes place in the form of parades, performances, or protests. It is part political activism and part celebration of all the LGBTQ+ community has achieved over the years. Pride events welcome individuals from outside the LGBTQ+ community as it’s an opportunity to show support, observe, listen and be educated.
